Summer 22 assessment series: pre-release information
Easter 2022 falls on Sunday 17 April, and Easter holiday dates are staggered across the country. For some providers this starts as early as Monday 4 April and runs as late as Friday 22 April for others.
Whilst no timetabled external assessments fall during this period, there are some assessments which begin shortly after the Easter holiday which require a pre-release of material for students to work on in advance of the timetabled assessment starting. In these instances, the current release schedule would see material shared with providers during their Easter holiday.
Where this is the case in the Summer 2022 series, we will bring forward the date of sharing pre-release material, including guidance to ensure all providers receive this before the Easter break, and ensure students have the most appropriate opportunity to prepare before the assessments begin.
The assessments affected are below, including the updated date for sharing pre-release materials with students. Note that in all cases tutor guidance documents will be shared at least 2 weeks before first assessments, and 1 week before stated pre-release dates.

Students are required to complete a pre-release research activity. This activity takes place within the 2 week assessment window. Students have 2 hours, under supervised conditions, to select and research one of the briefs. This must take place before the students are given the external assessment tasks, but within the 2 week assessment window. As per the tutor guidance document, this activity is classed as 2 hours preparation time, and is not included within the 14 hours 30 minutes allowed for the external assessment tasks. |
